Gucci Names Alessandro Michele its New Creative Director | IamJuanC
Following the departure of Frida Giannini as creative director after nine years, Gucci will soon announceAlessandro Michele as her successor. Although relatively unknown to the fashion world, Michele, 42, took charge of the fashion house’s 2015 fall/winter collection after Giannini’s earlier-than-expected exit. He subsequently delivered an androgynous range of menswear that harked back to the sexy Tom Ford days of the label. As far as his resumé is concerned, Michele worked as an associate to Giannini, overseeing leather goods, shoes, jewelry and homeware. In September, he added the role of creative director of porcelain maker Richard Ginori 1735 SpA, which Gucci bought back in 2013.

Taking a cab through the bustling streets of New York City to catch a flight at JFK or Newark Liberty during rush hour may be a challenge if you’re in a hurry, but a new aerial ridesharing company can get you there in just 6 minutes. Gotham Air lets customers book a helicopter flight less than an hour in advance via their website, which will depart from a helipad in downtown Manhattan. A flight is priced at $219 USD, but for a limited time Gotham Air is offering a $99 USD fair for first-timers. For a flight to be confirmed at least four people will have to reserve a spot. The service is available between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for now, but the schedule could see an expansion if the demand for choppers goes up in the future.
