Takashi Murakami x Hajime Asaoka “Death Takes No Bribe” Tourbillion Watch | IamJuanC

Takashi Murakami, the artist whose beautifully animated work has been the subject of infinite fine arts discussions, teamed up with independent Japanese watchmaker Hajime Asaoka for a custom watch. Entitled “Death Takes No Bribe,” the tourbillion movement timepiece is the result of over three years of meticulous planning and design. Featuring flower and skull imagery in Murakami’s trademark style, the watch is an exercise in dark humor–it observes the temporality of life in both the engraved face and the watch’s form. Asaoka will premiere the watch at the Academie Horlogere des Createurs Independants’ (AHCI) 2013 watch fair in Basel, Switzerland.

Quickly following yesterday’s first wave of spring/summer product releases under the SOPHNET. umbrella, uniform experiment drops more goodies in the form of footwear. The straight tip shoes are crafted from premium leather and are adorned with studs for the boldly fashionable. These classic black silhouettes feature silver studs where the perforations should have been, while the two pairs of wingtips are studded at the heel with silver or black studs. These will be officially available on January 26 at ¥73,500 JPY (Approximately $832 USD) each.

Such is the case with Rough Crafts and Roland Sands Design‘s new collaborative endeavor: the Shadow Rocket. Aptly titled for its all-black composition, as well as its slew of turbo-churning aftermarket parts, it’s the details that make this bike a rider’s greasy dream.
