James Bond’s Skyfall Yacht Selling for $14.2 Million | IamJuanC

Since costarring in the latest James Bond movie Skyfall alongside Daniel Craig, the Regina has come up on the market. The 56-meter steel super schooner can comfortably accommodate 12 guests and 7 staff inside its six-guest staterooms, which include two master cabins fitted with king-sized beds, three guest cabins with double beds, and an extra cabin with a twin bed. All cabins feature en-suite showers and individual air-conditioning as well as satellite TV and surround sound systems. Of course if you’ve seen the gripping Bond epic, you would have noticed the spacious sun deck which comes with a seating area and bar. All this luxury can be yours now for just $14.2 million–but if that’s too steep you could charter it for $120,000 USD a week.

J. L. Lawson & Co. “The Cell” 6061-T6 Machined Survival Kit

With the Mayan apocalypse looming large, J. L. Lawson & Co. look to cover the bases with this mini survival kit. Dubbed “The Cell” 6061-T6 Machined Survival Kit, this nifty water-resistant container is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum before being bead blasted and hard anodized. Rugged and durable in both appearance and nature, the container features double O-rings for increased water resistance. The container can be purchased with a canvas roll containing a candle, P-38 military, two fishing hooks, four lead hooks, 20 feet of fishing line, two tinder tabs, one ferro rod, and five feet of brass wire. Additionally, the container cap features an embedded compass while the other end features a slight point for use as an impact weapon should things get out of hand. J. L. Thanks to new Dodge 3500 chassis and mechanical systems, the D200 is ready to handle the raw brawn of the 5.9 L Cummins engine that provides it with an insane 975 lbs. of torque. Other features include a Six-Gun diesel tuner, a Monster Ram intake manifold, a dual exhaust, a Banks Brake exhaust braking system, a 4.5-inch Baja 1000 Chase lift kit with Fox shocks, custom audio, and an interior featuring free-range American Indian Reservation bison leather. Expect to see it at SEMA 2012, but no word on whether you'll ever be able to buy one.

Jony Ive to Take Over as Head of Human Interface Design at Apple | IamJuanC

Following the news that Scott Forstall, head of iOS, is leaving Apple, it’s been announced that Jony Ive, Apple’s design guru, will be assuming his responsibilities. Forstall’s departure follows several high-profile issues at Apple, most notably the Maps debacle. His successor Ive is the man behind the iMac, iPhone, and iPad’s hardware and with this latest announcement, it’s thought that Apple’s software and hardware design will become more coherent and unified. We can’t wait to see what Ive has in store for future iOS releases.
